With more than 98% of the ballots counted, Cunningham took in 1,869 votes, compared to the 1,036 that went to Jelanie Deshong, the Working Families Party candidate for the seat. Cunningham will replace Diana Richardson, who vacated the seat after being named Brooklyn’s deputy borough president.
