Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez marital issues run ‘deeper’ than different approaches to fame

The marital issues plaguing Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez reportedly run “deeper” than the stars’ vastly different feelings on their A-list fame.

Despite the Oscar winner, 51, recently describing his wife’s level of celebrity as “f–king bananas,” fame is not the crux of the tensions between the couple, a source told People.

“The idea that Ben thinks Jennifer is too famous and that he didn’t know what he was getting into with the attention on their marriage isn’t true,” said the insider. “There are deeper issues.”

The insight comes just days after the A-listers marked their second wedding anniversary earlier this week, which they did on different coasts. Lopez was spotted wearing her wedding ring while shopping in the Hamptons, while Affleck was reportedly back in California.

Though neither the Bronx-born songstress nor the “Gone Girl” star have publicly commented on the current status of their relationship, they’re reportedly living apart and are “focused on their separate lives.”

The couple’s $60 million Beverly Hills mansion was also put on the market last month, leading many to speculate that divorce is imminent.

Lopez and Affleck — who each have children from their earlier marriages to Marc Anthony and Jennifer Garner — wed on July 16, 2022, after reconciling in 2021 following their previous engagement in the early aughts.

An insider told People the two “don’t have any summer plans together,” which appeared to be confirmed by J.Lo’s recent Affleck-free trip to Italy and their separate Fourth of July celebrations.
