President Biden’s COVID-rebound cough is almost gone although he is still testing positive for the virus, White House physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor said Friday.
“The president continues to feel very well. His cough has almost completely resolved,” O’Connor said in a daily update on the president’s condition.
Biden remains isolated, but his temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate and oxygen levels remain “entirely normal,” according to the White House.
But Biden and First Lady Jill Biden are planning to visit flood-ravaged Kentucky on Monday, a sign that doctors expect him to receive a negative test no later than Sunday.

The 79-year-old president was infected by the BA.5 subvariant, which is now sweeping the country. Hospitalizations and deaths are rising, although widespread vaccinations and previous infections are helping to keep a lid on the toll.
