PSG President says European Super League “will never exist”
Next season football fans will be presented with a new, modified version of the Champions League. It’ll be bigger — with more teams and a new league format in the Group Stages — but does that necessarily mean better and is it a way to dissuade clubs from joining a breakaway Super League? Paris Saint-Germain chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi certainly thinks so. Speaking with CNN’s Amanda Davies at the inaugural Globe Soccer Awards Europe Edition Forum in Sardinia, Italy on Tuesday, the Qatari insists the idea is dead in the water and still retains hope that one day his club will taste Champions League glory.
