Video shows Paul Pelosi attacked in his home by hammer-wielding intruder

Video of Paul Pelosi being assaulted by a hammer-wielding man on the morning of Oct. 28. was released Friday at the order of San Francisco Superior Court Judge Stephen M. Murphy.

The graphic footage shows police knocking on the door of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Bay Area home where her 82-year-old husband and the suspect, identified as David DePape, appear to struggle over a hammer.

“Everything’s good,” DePape says when law enforcement officers asked what is happening.

Police tell DePape, 42, to let go of the tool to which he responds, “Um, nope,” before pulling it away from Pelosi. He then bashed Pelosi on the head with the weapon. Police rush into the home and contain the suspect as Pelosi drops to the floor.

Authorities release body camera footage from attack on Paul Pelosi.

The suspect’s social media included unhinged rants about COVID-19 vaccines, the 2020 election and “global elites,” according to CNN. He reportedly wanted to wait for Nancy Pelosi, who was in Washington D.C. during the alleged break-in.

Where is Nancy?” DePape allegedly asked after bashing his way into the home through a glass door.

Police also released a 911 recording of Pelosi calling for help while DePape is inside his home.

“I don’t know who he is,” Pelosi tells the 911 operator. “He says he’s a friend.”

Conspiracy theorists suggested in October that Pelosi and his alleged attacker had a prior relationship. None of the information made public Friday suggests that’s true.

DePape is accused of attempted murder.
