A suicide bomber on Thursday claimed the lives of 11 Marines, one Navy sailor and one Army soldier near the Kabul airport as troops helped emergency efforts to evacuate Americans and Afghan refugees. The attack, which claimed the lives of more than 160 Afghans, marked the deadliest day for U.S. forces in Afghanistan since 2011.
