Madison Square Garden CEO James Dolan announced Thursday that Billy Joel’s 10-year-long residency at the sports arena will end with the star’s 150th show at MSG in 2024.
“No other city in the world could have hosted this,” Dolan said at a press conference Thursday morning.
Mayor Adams and Rangers legend Henrik Lundqvist also bid Joel adieu and lauded Joel as a New York icon.
“This was a revival, not merely a residency,” Adams said.
Joel began his residency at MSG in 2014 and holds the record for most consecutive shows at the iconic arena.
