British lawmaker David Amess stabbed to death while meeting with constituents

This is the second murder of a British politician in just five years. Labour Party lawmaker Jo Cox, who had recently been elected to Parliament, was fatally shot and stabbed in the street in June 2016 right after leaving a meeting with constituents at a library in Birstall. The attacker, Thomas Mair, was arrested and later sentenced to life in prison.
