Ex-White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham trashes Trump aide: ‘I’d believe my dog over Mark Meadows’

Former White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham says she wouldn’t trust ex-Chief of Staff Mark Meadows to tell the truth about Jan. 6, even if he testified under oath.

“I would believe my dog over Mark Meadows,” Grisham said on CNN.

The onetime loyal mouthpiece to former President Donald Trump said that she would vouch for Cassidy Hutchinson, the bombshell witness to the Jan. 6 committee, over Meadows if the two gave conflicting accounts.

Grisham was joined by former Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney in ganging up on Meadows in a CNN interview focusing on the toxic environment in the Trump White House.

Hutchinson painted a picture of a dangerously detached Meadows who failed to even try to rein in Trump as he sought to lead the attack on the Capitol and later as the violent mob stormed the building.

Mulvaney derided the “chaos” evident during the days before Jan. 6, an atmosphere he blamed on Meadows.

“It was chaos, it was anarchy, it was a clown show,” Mulvaney said.

Both Grisham and Mulvaney heaped praise for former White House Counsel Pat Cipollone, who is due to testify Friday to the Congressional committee investigating the attack on the Capitol.

Cipollone will likely be asked to confirm key claims made by Hutchinson, like the Meadows statement that Trump approved of the crowd chanting “Hang Mike Pence” and did not want to stop the attack.

Grisham called the top lawyer a “man of integrity” who wouldn’t be afraid to spill the beans about Trump’s misdeeds.

“Pat stood firm and did what was best for the country,” she said. “So, I believe that’s what he will do now.”

Mulvaney said he would believe Cipollone regardless of any denial Meadows might offer.

“If Meadows says X and Cipollone says Y, I’m believing Cipollone,” Mulvaney said. “And I think a lot of folks are.”
