Gov. Hochul to sign bill granting ‘first responder’ status to N.Y. 911 operators, dispatchers

“Emergency Operators and Dispatchers are undoubtedly the first responders of first responders, serving at the center of emergency events, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week,” Levler said. “These essential workers exercise quick-thinking, counseling, and guidance that frequently makes the critical difference between life and death before help arrives.”
