Justice Department sues Georgia over voting restrictions allegedly aimed at Black residents

Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke, who will oversee the department’s lawsuit, said those restrictions are clearly aimed at suppressing Black voters, who cast mail-in ballots for President Biden at a record-breaking rate in the 2020 election, carrying him to victory in the traditionally deep-red state.
