Kim Petras cancels summer shows, including NYC’s LadyLand, due to health issues

Kim Petras has pulled the plug on her previously scheduled festival appearances this summer.

The 31-year-old singer, the first openly trans person to win a Grammy Award, cited health problems as the reason for the cancellation of her upcoming plans.

“My buns, I’m devastated to be writing this but I’m going through some health issues and under medical advice I have had to make the hard decision to not perform at festivals this summer,” she shared on social media Wednesday. “I love [you] so much and I’ll make it up to you and be back better than ever very soon.”

She did not provide specifics on what the health issues are.

According to Billboard, the Petras was booked to perform at a string of festivals this summer, including Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Mighty Hoopla in London, Primavera Porto in Portugal, and Capitol Hill Block Party in Seattle, Wash.

Just last week, LadyLand 2024 announced Petras as the headliner for its annual New York Pride bash in Brooklyn on June 28.

During the 2023 Grammys, the Cologne, Germany native took home the prize for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Unholy,” which she shared with British vocal powerhouse Sam Smith, who came out as non-binary in 2019.

“I just want to thank all the incredible transgender legends performing who kicked these doors open for me so I could be here tonight,” she said during her acceptance speech.
