Since Mayor Adams rolled out his first draft, preliminary budget in February, the City Council has been releasing budget priorities piecemeal. Last week, Council members demanded a budget that increases expense funding for housing and homelessness by more than $300 million annually, as well as $4 billion in increased capital spending on housing. Prior to that, the Council Speaker called on the administration to include funding to help CUNY students who haven’t graduated return to school to get their diplomas.
