Parents of TikTok star Kyle Marisa Roth called for welfare check before death: report

TikTok star Kyle Marisa Roth was found dead in her apartment earlier this month, after her parents reportedly grew concerned by a video on her social media page and contacted police to perform a welfare check.

Roth’s body was discovered in her Annapolis apartment on April 14, the same day her parents allegedly reached out to authorities, according to an incident report obtained by TMZ.

Prior to her death, Roth, 36, had amassed over 250,000 followers and millions of views on TikTok, discussing celebrity goings-on and blind item gossip.

It’s unclear which video of hers alarmed her parents, or what exactly worried them in the post. The video in question was reportedly posted on April 4, but Roth had been sharing multiple videos per day leading up to her death.

No cause of death has yet to be reported, as toxicology results and an autopsy are pending. However, law enforcement sources told TMZ the initial call to Roth’s address was connected with reports of a potential overdose.

When Annapolis Police went to check on Roth, a building manager let them into her unit, at which point they found Roth “beyond help,” according to the incident report.

Roth’s father, Robert, told police that he hadn’t heard from his daughter since April 8, while her mother, Jacquie, had reportedly been out of touch with her for months.

It was Jacquie who allegedly saw the video and suspected it had something to do with her daughter’s wellbeing.

When her death was announced on April 15, Roth’s sister, Lindsay, released a statement saying, “As a family we are still processing and deciding how to properly celebrate and honor her life. We don’t know [what] happened yet.”

“I know she touched so many people with her humor, intelligence, beauty, gossip activism, athleticism and more — she had so many gifts,” she added.
