A construction worker died Wednesday after being electrocuted and falling at a job site in Philadelphia.

The man, 49, was working on a ladder when he was electrocuted and fell to the ground around noon.

He was transported to Lankenau Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

No other information about the incident was made available, but an investigation is ongoing. The man’s identity has not been released.

One out of every five workplace deaths is construction-related, according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

“Fatalities caused by falls from elevation continue to be a leading cause of death for construction employees, accounting for 395 of the 1069 construction fatalities recorded in 2022,” according to the agency.
