When we first walked into the lobby, we noticed the stunning floral piece in the middle of the room. The hotel’s florist creates these designs using seasonal flowers and changes them to reflect holidays and the changing seasons.

During the pandemic, the hotel offered local artists the opportunity to showcase their artwork around the property. This program allowed artists a wider audience for their pieces (guests have the option to purchase artwork) and has given new life to the hotel’s public spaces.

Located on the second floor, adjacent to the fitness center, the indoor heated lap pool is well-loved among guests, particularly children. With plenty of natural light coming in from the floor-to-ceiling windows, it’s a great place to relax or workout.

The spa offers signature body and facial treatments, as well as a nail salon. There are six treatment rooms, including this couples room.

Located on the 12th floor, the Executive Club Lounge is a complimentary perk for guests staying in suites (not including junior suites). However, guests in other rooms can purchase a daily membership to enjoy the breakfast, appetizers and drinks. The lounge also offers stunning views of the Rose Kennedy Greenway.

A special amenity that’s unique to InterContinental Boston is the eight-person boardroom within the Executive Club Lounge. Guests can book this space for meetings or to take conference calls. It can be completely enclosed for privacy.

The classic waterfront room is the entry-level room at the hotel, but it provides plenty of luxury. Within this room category, a notable feature is the window between the bathroom and bedroom. This window, which can be closed for privacy, allows guests to enjoy the views while relaxing in the tub.

Every room comes with a deluxe soaking tub, providing the perfect way to end a day of sightseeing. In the ambassador suite, the bathroom is exceptionally spacious and boasts the added convenience of two vanities.

Continuing its dedication to sustainability, the hotel recently upgraded to full-sized bottles of its amenities in the guest rooms. Byredo is a luxury European brand with a subtle fragrance that can be enjoyed by all guests.

Regardless of whether your room is located on the waterfront or facing the cityscape, you can expect fantastic views.

RumBa is an energetic cocktail lounge with a historical bent – it’s an homage to the rum trade that passed through the wharf. With more than 100 different rum varieties from around the world, guests can get an education in the tasty libation.

Miel Brasserie offers a mix of French cuisine and New England classics in an open, airy dining room that overlooks the waterfront.

Being a waterfront property has its special benefits. Guests can take advantage of the water taxi dock just outside of the hotel to travel around the harbor. The hotel also has a partnership with Red Top Boats, so travelers can get to and from the Boston Logan International Airport via the waterways.

When the hotel was being constructed, the architects and developers wanted to combine maritime history and modern design. When you look directly at the building, you can see its similarity to a tall ship with the masts raised. The curvature of the mirrored glass not only bears a striking resemblance to sails blowing in the wind but serves a dual purpose of reflecting the light, water and neighborhood surrounding the property.
