‘The View’ Republicans slam Trump after arrest, mugshot

Even though “The View” is still on summer hiatus, there’s one hot topic that the show’s resident Republican co-hosts couldn’t resist weighing in on — Donald Trump’s mugshot.

Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro took to social media following the release of the former U.S. president’s booking photo, which was taken on Thursday after Trump turned himself in to Georgia’s Fulton County Jail on charges relating to interference in the 2020 election.

“A reminder that he hasn’t learned a thing and is as small a man as he was on 1/6,” tweeted Griffin, who worked for former Vice President Mike Pence during Trump’s term. She reposted the MAGA leader’s tweet of his mugshot, comparing it to his final tweet on Jan. 8, 2021, before he was banned from the social media platform following the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol.

The 34-year-old former White House director of strategic communications has been openly critical of Trump since resigning on Dec. 3, 2020 because she “wasn’t comfortable” with how the administration was handling losing the election weeks prior.

Navarro, on the other hand, has never supported Trump, and the Nicaragua-born political strategist didn’t mince characters in letting the former reality star know how she felt about his latest publicity shot.

Taking to Instagram, she told her followers she “could look at [the mugshot] all day,” asking if anyone had turned it into toilet paper yet.

“I try not to get joy out of other people’s troubles, but this is about justice,” the 51-year-old added. “His lies and conspiracies have caused the country so much harm and pain. So yeah, I’m celebrating he’s finally being held accountable and facing consequences.”
