Wordle 682 5/6
⬜🟩⬜⬜⬜ AUDIO
⬜🟩⬜🟩🟩 FUNKY
🟨🟩⬜🟩🟩 LUCKY
⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 BULKY
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 SULKY

I’m a Wordle novice. Honestly, I hadn’t even heard about Wordle until my team told me about it, but they know I appreciate mentally stimulating puzzles so I was immediately intrigued.

I’m captivated by words and the challenge of putting them together in a meaningful way, as I do when I write my songs.

Since music is such an integral part of my life, I naturally went with AUDIO as my first guess. Part of my strategy was to rule out as many vowels as possible, so I felt optimistic when I netted out with a U off the bat.

From there, I stayed on theme and went with FUNKY. When I locked in the K and Y on that turn, I really thought I would win Wordle in three guesses and started feeling like I was either really smart or lucky for a first-timer.

Speaking of LUCKY, I quickly realized that word made for a perfect third guess. What were the odds? It would’ve truly been ironic for me to win on that word. Unfortunately, it was not to be, though I at least secured the L in the third spot with that guess and was one letter away from victory. And yes, this is the only time when it’s appropriate to celebrate taking an L.

Anyway, at this point, I figured I would solve Wordle with four guesses and assumed that BULKY was the obvious choice. I was 100 percent sure! I didn’t even bother thinking through backup options, so you can imagine how disappointed I was to get it wrong.

That left me with SULKY as the remaining alternative and I won on my fifth try. It was a little anticlimactic because I’m competitive, but I still give it a five-star review.

Today’s word is SULKY. According to Webster’s New World College Dictionary, it’s an adjective that describes something gloomy, dismal or sullen.

Today’s puzzle is easy.

The letter pattern in today’s word is unique enough that the answer can be found using elimination strategies within six guesses, and the word is very familiar vocabulary with no letter repeats.
