What do a NASCAR champion, a “Survivor” and a “Bachelor” have in common? By the end of the day — if all goes well — they will all have 26.2 miles under their feet.
In a field of nearly 30,000 participants, a handful of celebrities and star athletes are running the Boston Marathon. From reality television, several headline names are running to raise money for various causes: Matt James, the star of season 25 of “The Bachelor” and Zac Clark, a former contestant on “The Bachelorette,” as well as Ethan Zohn, a “Survivor” champion. All have experience competing in marathons.
Competitors from the sports world include the NASCAR driver Matt Kenseth; former U.S. women’s soccer team players Heather O’Reilly, Leslie Osbourne and Kristine Lilly; and former Vanderbilt University football kicker Sarah Fuller.
